Where are your essential oils and absolutes sourced from?
We source our single-origin essential oils and absolutes directly from trusted ethical sources and directly from the producer as often as possible. We also distill essential oils ourselves, from time to time. With more than 25 years of experience in the aromatherapy field, we feel honored and humbled to share our life's work with you, so you can enjoy the awe-inspiring benefits of botanicals.
Why do the colors of the products change?
Each harvest and distillation of a botanical may be slightly different, which can affect the color and aroma of the oil that is extracted. For example, Tension Meltaway’s blue color will vary from ocean blue to sky blue from batch to batch, yet the integrity and strength of the aromatherapy blend remains consistent.

Why is there a bee in your logo?
Since our company’s inception, the bee has been our North Star. We chose the bee as our mascot for what it symbolizes and the way it lives its life cultivating community and cross-pollinating. Without these precious pollinators, we wouldn’t have the vibrant essential oils and other botanicals that bring so much vibrancy to our products. We live and breathe in the plant world at Nomad Botanicals, and we know that plants have the greatest strength and character when they are able to thrive in an environment of diversity vs. monoculture. This concept helps us navigate the choices we make from ingredient selection to the artisans with whom we work.
Do you give back?
Yes, giving back to communities local and global is at the heart of Nomad Botanicals.
We support organic agriculture through the essential oils, hydrosols, and other botanical ingredients we purchase as well as through our partnership with our local Farmers Market, both as a donor and vendor. We choose to invest in artisans who custom make organic cotton bags for us both locally and abroad, because of their commitment to Fair Trade practices. We also support the transformation of sustainable cinnamon bark into everlasting keepsake boxes, fostering an indigenous community to thrive by economizing the natural resources around them.
During the pandemic, we provided free Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer to local farmers and low-income residents throughout Sonoma County.
In recognition of the war in Ukraine, we wanted to find a way to spread some love & light and give back to the children & families of Ukraine. We created a small batch Face & Body Oil, called Heartlight, inspired by the flower that opens the heart and the one that follows the light, and we donated a portion of the net proceeds to the Children's Emergency Fund, with the international non-profit organization, Save The Children.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Sustainability is at the core of our mission. All of our glass bottles are recyclable. For plastic bottles, we offer refills to extend the shelf life of the bottles. Our packaging material is all recyclable and we encourage you to recycle after you receive your package.
Shipping & Returns
What are your estimated shipping times?
Domestic shipping can take 1 to 8 business days depending on where you are located and the carrier. All orders ship from Petaluma, California. International shipping varies due to the different custom requirements per country.
What are your processing times?
All orders ship out within 1-3 business days during standard weeks. However, during the Holiday season and promotional sales, please allow a few extra days to ship out orders.
Where do you ship to?
We ship everywhere within North America and the rest of the world.
What is your return policy?
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Unless your item is damaged upon receipt, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging to be eligible for a return. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact us at email@example.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Custom products and class registrations are not available to return.
