ESSENTIAL OIL
Lavender Maillette
Be transported to the fields of Lavender that surround the countryside town of Southeastern, France through this honey-like aroma.
Lavender essential oil is distilled from many different kinds of Lavender plants. When grown from seed, it is referred to as True Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and is revered by many as the truest expression of the botanical. However, when cuttings of it are planted (clones like Lavender Maillette), they produce essential oil that is often loved more than any other Lavender, because of their honey-like sweetness and a more affordable price.
A natural panacea, Lavender's healing benefits are endless...from burns to insect bites to blemishes, to name a few. It also offers proactive benefits to keep pathogens at bay when utilized in daily hygiene rituals. In fact, the word Lavender is derived from the Latin word lavare, which means "to wash". And of course the word is practically synonymous with calm. Breathing in Lavender for even a few seconds calms the central nervous system to restore the calm that belongs to us.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
- If essential oils come into unwanted contact with skin or mucous membranes, a traditional method for mitigating this is to douse the area in a fatty/carrier oil. Common kitchen oils like olive oil are effective. Essential oils are lipophilic, meaning they love oils and fats. This is why they are drawn to the fatty/carrier oil. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they hate water. For this reason, putting water on the skin will push the essential oil further into the skin.
